Interpipe, Slavutich and Khortitsa Sponsor CSR Seminar in Zaporizhzhia
Expert magazine and Eurasia Foundation co-organized an intensive training seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for more than 30 journalists and editors from Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts on December 12 in Zaporizhzhia to raise the media's awareness and understanding of CSR, why it is important for their communities, and how to report on it in a balanced fashion. Support for the seminar comes from Interpipe Ukraine, Ltd.; P.B.K. Slavutich; T.D. Khortitsa, USAID and the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Administration. Click here for more information.

BAT Signs Cooperation Agreement with Chernihiv Region
On December 5, British American Tobacco Ukraine (BAT) signed a memo for further economic development, mass media support and environmental protection cooperation with the Chernihiv oblast state administration. BAT committed to organize trainings and study tours of the BAT factory in Priluki for regional businesses. They also support a local Business Development Center in Priluki. The company will also sponsor media trainings and support nature preservation activities. Click here for more information (in Ukrainian).

Kyiv Celebrates Philanthropists of the Year 2007
On December 13, Dytiachyi Svit and Ukraine 3000 Charitable Foundations, the Ukrainian Forum of Philanthropists and the Center of Philanthropy presented the first "Philanthropist of the Year" awards in Kyiv, with Nadra Bank, Sanofi-Aventis Group and Pershyi Natsionalny television channel. The selection committee recognized the top nationwide philanthropists in five categories: international company, Ukrainian company, financial institution, charitable foundation and individual. They also recognized 25 philanthropists at the regional level. More than 20 companies, 35 charitable organizations and 19 individuals were nominated for awards.
