BigBoard and the Ukraine Media Partnership unveil more than 500 new "Stop AIDS" ads in honor of World AIDS Day
In honor of World AIDS Day on Saturday, December 1, Ukraine's largest outdoor advertising company, BigBoard, is donating 300 billboards and 240 city light spaces as part of its commitment to the Ukrainian Media Partnership to Combat HIV/AIDS (UMP). The total value of the donated advertising space is about $385,000 and represents one step in the company's ongoing involvement with the Ukrainian Media Partnership. Throughout December 2007 and January 2008, UMP will display new HIV/AIDS public service announcements (PSAs) in 18 Ukrainian cities including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Horlivka, Lviv, Luhansk, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Kherson as part of its "StopAIDS: Affects Everyone" campaign.

Diamantnank Donated an Incubator in Simferopol
On November 28, Diamantbank announced that it has donated an incubator to the Simferopol maternity clinic. The incubator was specifically requested under the bank's "Think about Life" program, which will help children survive their first weeks. The program supports intensive care units at pediatric hospitals, many of which suffer from a lack of modern equipment. During 2007, Diamantbank donated equipment to pediatric hospitals and maternity clinics in Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Lutsk and Kryvyi Rih. Click here for more information.

Ukrainian and Kazakh journalists and NGOs gather to discuss CSR
Last week, the Ukrainian Global Compact Network office in Kyiv hosted a delegation of journalists, representatives of socially responsible businesses and NGOs from Kazakhstan to meet with different Ukrainian CSR stakeholders as well as the Global Compact support team in Ukraine. This tour was an outcome of the International Media Forum on CSR conducted in Kyiv last July. Participants, including Ukrainian journalists and NGO representatives, focused on the connection between media and CSR efforts. Participants also discussed models of cooperation between NGOs and business. Click here for more information.
 
Business, Media and NGOs discuss 2008 CSR Trends in Ukraine
Business, media and NGO representatives gathered on December 3 in Kyiv to discuss future trends in CSR. Organized by the League of Professional Women, the Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum, the British Council's UK-Ukraine Professional Network and the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, the conference on "Corporate Social Responsibility: Main Trends for 2008 from the Business and Civil Society Point of View" included discussions on various models of corporate social responsibility and the CSR situation in Ukraine. The organizers will publish CSR success stories as a booklet in 2008. Click here for more information.
