Eurasia Foundation Launches East Europe Foundation in Ukraine
The newly registered East Europe Foundation (EEF) will hold its first board meeting on November 29 in Kyiv. Established by the Eurasia Foundation and funded by more than a dozen donor organizations, EEF will implement community, economic, public administration and educational development programs via grants, contracts and other technical assistance. One of its core program priorities will be the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility in Ukraine. EEF is now seeking candidates for 14 positions, including executive director. Procter & Gamble Supports Pediatric Cardiology Ward
On October 25, Dytiache Sertse International Charitable Foundation and Procter & Gamble Ukraine (P&G) launched a new project called "Give a Piece of Heart!" P&G will transfer a portion of sales revenues from products such as Ariel, Tide, Gala, Dreft, Lenor, Fairy, Mr. Proper, Comet and more to the NGO to purchase modern equipment for the pediatric cardiology and cardio surgery ward of the Scientific Medical Center of the Ministry of Public Health, which is Ukraine's central institute working in pediatric cardiology and cardio surgery, treating children nationwide. In the past eight years, P&G Ukraine has donated $ 1.2 million towards modern equipment for pediatric hospitals, along with other long-term social projects in the country. Arterium Builds Playgrounds for All Children
On October 24, the Ukrainian pharmaceutical corporation "Arterium," officially opened a new children's playground at the Kyiv Zoo. The new equipment is adapted for all children, including those with special needs. This is the fourth playground that Arterium has built for its program, "Building Playgrounds for Children with Special Needs" in Kyiv and Lviv, to help children with special needs enjoy social play time. Arterium has built other playgrounds at the Lviv teaching-rehabilitation center, Istochnik, and in Kyiv's Taras Shevchenko Park.
