This new committee will provide a forum for Member companies, both locally-based and international, to benefit and promote CSR practices among the Ukrainian business community, government authorities and public sectors. This event follows on the heels of the Chamber's "YP-Net Knowledge Meeting" on "Corporate Social Responsibility: A Global Perspective" with guest speaker Mr. Arnold F. Wellman, Corporate Vice President of Public Affairs, Domestic/International for the UPS Company, which took place October 9. "YP-Net" is the Chamber's network for young professionals. On October 15, the poultry company Nasha Ryaba announced its new social program, "Lets Save Children Together," to purchase and install 10 new incubators in pediatric hospitals all over Ukraine. The incubators will help increase the survival chances of premature and underweight newborns. The program is designed to combat Ukraine's high infant mortality rate, which reached 38% last year, and to help Ukrainian hospitals ease the transition to adopt international standards for registering new births.
