Dobrota Coordinates Assistance to Boarding School for the Blind in Donetsk oblast
Corporate philanthropy is not just the business of major corporations according to the Donetsk City Charitable Foundation Dobrota. In cooperation with Public Youth Organization, Dobrota worked with more than 20 small businesses in Donetsk Oblast to donate more than 10,000 UAH of goods to the Slaviansk city boarding school for children with visual impairment on September 16 in a project titled, "To Hear is to See." Participating businesses included private entrepreneurs, travel agencies, building companies, stores and others. Local media and advertising agencies also participated to raise awareness of the efforts. During a party to celebrate the donation, the NGOs handed over Braille paper, special audio players and more than 100 audio books, as well as other school supplies and food. More than 140 visually impaired children from three oblasts in eastern Ukraine attend this school. Due to the success of this pilot project, Dobrota will continue to collect contributions from the Donetsk community to implement a new project, "Seeing through Your Heart," to continue to support the school. Atlant-M Employees Donate Blood
International automobile holding company "Atlant-M" organized its second blood drive in three countries on September 7. Employees in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus went to their local blood banks for "Donor's Day." In Kyiv, 32 employees made donations. The Russian branch of the company initiated the idea to organize a blood drive and it was later supported by the rest of the offices to offset a critical shortage in local blood supplies. In the past year, 152 participant employees in all three countries gave 40 liters of blood. In Kyiv alone, 200 individuals need donated blood every day, according to the company's press release.
