Expert Magazine and East Europe Foundation Host CSR Media Seminar in Kyiv

 
On February 20, the East Europe Foundation (EEF) and Expert Ukraine magazine will conduct an intensive training seminar on Mass Media and Corporate Social Responsibility for journalists and editors from Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts. This is the third seminar run by the partners to raise the media's understanding of CSR, why it is important for their communities, and how to report on it in a balanced fashion. Support for the seminar comes from the Industrial Group Consortium, Tetra Pak, Brand Time PR agency, TNK-BP in Ukraine and Ekonomicheskie Izvestia. Click here for more information.
 

Mott Foundation Supports local NGO to Promote CSR at the Local Level

 
The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation awarded $100,000 over 3 years to the Princes-Benefactors Ostrozkiy Foundation in Rivne to implement "Developing Corporate Social Responsibility in Ukraine." The project will promote corporate philanthropy at the local level all across Ukraine. The NGO will encourage local charitable organizations to network with local businesses and media partners, seeking to increase philanthropic activity in at least five targeted regions. In addition, the grantee will train local organizations to grow their marketing and fundraising capacity, develop promotional materials to support local initiatives, and encourage philanthropy by recognizing the regions' "Top Philanthropists." RZVA-Elektrik Helps Vulnerable Children in Rivne

On January 22, Rivne-based RZVA-Elektrik announced a new program to promote social integration for vulnerable children and presented the results their 2007 program, "Light up Hope in Children's Hearts." PZVA-Elektrik tripled the budget of their programs to improve the quality of life for children at risk, pledging to contribute 100,000UAH (about $20,000) in 2008. The company will implement the program in cooperation with the Blagovist Foundation and the Rivne Social Partnership Center. Local NGOs are eligible to apply for up to 10,000 UAH in an open competition. Please click here for additional information.
