Obolon Brewery Organizes a Nationwide Competition to Improve Life in Ukraine
Obolon brewery is currently hosting a competition to support social projects in different areas. Participants of the competition, "Lets improve the quality of Ukrainian life together!" may have the opportunity to participate in trainings to improve their projects, while winners will receive grants from the company to implement social projects. Obolon invites NGOs and community groups to participate in this competition. Independent experts will review project proposals under the categories: culture, science and education, sports, children and youth, healthcare, quality of life. Life:) Announces the Results of its Social Program
On February 6, mobile operator Life:) announced the results of its charitable program, "It's Very Easy to Help," which raised a total of 1.3 million UAH to help street children, including a 500,000 UAH donation from the company. Among other projects, Life:) sponsored a touring theatrical play in which well-known Ukrainian actors volunteered their services and visited 24 cities nationwide. Life:) donated funds raised from ticket sales, charitable auctions and donations to the participating charitable organizations. This is the third time Life:) has implemented this program, each year raising more money. Please click here to for more information about the program and beneficiaries. |

Dobrochynna Ukraina Recommends Policies to the National Government
On February 13, Dobrochynna Ukraina, Ridniy Dim's joint initiative including businesses and NGOs to raise public awareness of social issues, sent an open letter to the President of Ukraine recommending new social sales taxes to raise funds for priority social programs. In addition, the working group that drafted the letter presented Dobrochynna Ukraina's activities to be used as the basis for developing a government-sponsored National Charity Council. Several Ukrainian companies and nonprofit organizations signed the letter, including the Ridnyi Dim Foundation, the Krona Foundation, the Forum of Young Leaders of Ukraine, the Confederation of Charitable Organizations of the Disabled of Ukraine, the Association of Social Entrepreneurs of Ukraine and the Foxtrot Group of Companies. Since fall 2007, 12 oblast administrations have worked with Dobrochynna Ukraina to implement social programs. For more information please click here (in Ukrainian).
