ROSHEN Supports Children with New Playgrounds Nationwide
ROSHEN Confectionery Corporation announced the results of its 2007 social activities, including installing 26 modern, safe playgrounds all over Ukraine, at a cost of $1.5 million. ROSHEN announced that they have installed and maintained 79 playgrounds nationwide since 1995. The company plans to continue this program in 2008 to provide safe places for Ukraine's children to play. Click here for more information. |

British American Tobacco Ukraine Presents their 2006-07 Social Report
In February, British American Tobacco Ukraine presented its first social report in accordance with AccountAbility's AA1000 Assurance Standard. The report, which is based on recommendations and comments from stakeholder meetings including government, consumers, commercial and nonprofit organizations, outlines a plan and evaluation criteria to implement participatory social programs. BAT's new social commitments include small and medium entrepreneurship development in Priluki and Chernihiv oblasts, new ecological initiatives, youth smoking prevention, and others. The Foundation for Ukraine Launches Website
On February 22, the Foundation for Ukraine launched its official website at www.fondua.org, offering information on its projects and services for businesses and civil society organizations. It also presents social entrepreneurship activities, venture philanthropy and workplace giving programs. The Foundation is a new Ukrainian non-governmental organization that develops resources to support civic initiatives that improve the quality of life for people in Ukraine. The Foundation will implement innovative models of philanthropy that promote partnerships between the private sector and civil society organizations to achieve positive social change with lasting impact.
