Foxtrot Gives Grants to Support Social Projects for Children in Ukraine
On March 12, the Foxtrot Group of Companies and Ukrainian NGO, Initiative for Social Action and Renewal in Eurasia (ISAR)/Yednannia, awarded grants to six local organizations to increase the quality of life of vulnerable children across Ukraine, with support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. The local NGOs in Rivne, Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Kyiv, Kherson and Lviv oblasts will implement civil initiatives and mobilize communities to help solve challenges facing children at the local and national level. Grant proposals must involve children and have participation from local communities, including businesses and government, to ensure project sustainability. Expert Magazine and UC RUSAL in cooperation with the East Europe Foundation Invite Journalists to a CSR Media Seminar in Mykolaiv
On April 2-3, Expert Magazine and UC RUSAL in cooperation with the East Europe Foundation will conduct an intensive training seminar on mass media and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for journalists and editors from Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad and Kherson oblasts in Mykolaiv. The fourth in a series of regional seminars, the event seeks to raise the media's understanding of CSR, why it is important for their communities, and how to report on it in a balanced fashion. Galychnya Dairy Company Sponsors Art Appreciation for Youth in Ukraine
On March 5, Galychyna dairy company concluded the first stage of its "Live Art" national competition to promote Ukrainian art and local museums in Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa. In Lviv, 18,000 school children studied Ukrainian art by copying famous works on special cards and comparing them with the museum originals. Over 1,000 school children visited the exhibit in two months. This project encourages creativity in children while increasing interest in museums. Galychnya will continue to distribute the special cards until the project ends in May. Galychnya will also cooperate with Lviv's Department of Humanitarian Policy to conduct a competition for art critics and experts. Please click here for additional information (in Ukrainian). |

| Ukrainian-American Environmental Association to Host Panel Discussion on Environmental Opportunities in Ukraine |
| On March 19, the Ukrainian-American Environmental Association will conduct a panel discussion on environmental opportunities in Ukraine for American businesses. Co-sponsored by the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation and The Washington Group, the panel discussion will examine investment opportunities in energy efficient and renewable energy projects in Ukraine according to the Kyoto Protocol. Panelists including Brian Castelli, CEO of the Alliance to Save Energy; John Palmisano, chairman of IE3; Rich Rosenzweig, COO of Natsource and Ken Bossong, Co-Director of the Ukrainian-American Environmental Association will review opportunities to reduce energy waste in Ukraine's major end-use energy sectors as well as the status and near-term potential for developing Ukraine's solar, wind, biomass/biofuels, small hydro, geothermal, and coal-mine methane resources. | UN and Best Analytical Center invite to First "Developing Business Partnerships for CSR" Forum |
| United Nations in Ukraine and BEST analytical center are pleased to invite you to the first "Developing Business Partnerships for CSR" Forum March 26 at the Hotel Opera in Kyiv. The Forum, organized with the support of System Capital Management and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, will discuss the importance of establishing partnerships between businesses for the successful implementation of socially responsible strategies.
