British American Tobacco Sponsors CSR Seminar in Chernihiv
 
On September 10, British American Tobacco will host a conference on mass media and corporate social responsibility for journalists and editors from Chernihiv and Kyiv oblasts. The conference will include various seminars to increase the media's understanding of CSR, discuss why CSR is important for Ukrainian communities and illustrate how to report on CSR in a balanced manner. Ethical Corporation Invites Ukrainian Businesses to CSR Conference in Prague
 
Ethical Corporation will host the Central and Eastern Europe Corporate Responsibility Summit in Prague October 13-14. The event seeks to promote best CSR management practices in the region and beyond. This two-day business conference will feature senior executives from Shell, Nestle, Microsoft, RWE Stoen, Danone, System Capital Management, Czech Coal, DHL Express, Siemens, BP, SABMiller and many more, providing participants with the opportunity to benchmark their CSR efforts against those of the leading corporations in the region. Washington Group Discusses Security thru Energy Independence, Diversification
 
The Washington Group, in conjunction with the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council and the Ukrainian American Environmental Association, is hosting a panel of speakers who will discuss independent energy options for Ukraine, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, fossil fuels and nuclear power. Achieving National Security for Ukraine through Energy Independence and Diversification will explore sustainable energy options for Ukraine and raise public awareness on the energy issues Ukraine currently faces. CREST Holds Competition for Energy Efficiency Research at Universities 
 
The Cooperation in Research and Education in Science and Technology (CREST) program is holding a competition to establish a research and education center for energy-efficient technologies.  Crest will support research on state-of-the-art energy-efficient technologies in a research center (REC) to be created at a Ukrainian university. The CREST program was developed by the Ministry of Ukraine for Education and Science (MES) and the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF), whose sponsors include large multinational corporations, and was made possible in part by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The program will strengthen research, create a modern research facility and promote integration of science and education in Ukrainian universities. Applications are due September 15.
