ÍeidelbergCement Ukraine Donates Playground Equipment
 
On September 9, ÍeidelbergCement Ukraine will donate playground equipment to children from the Novoamvrosiyivske village in Donetsk oblast. The grand opening of the new playground will feature entertainment for whole family, including games, prizes, a concert and fireworks. On August 24, the company also donated a new playground to the children of Dniprodzerzhynsk. The company also commissioned two additional playgrounds in Kryvyi Rih. Coalition for Children's Internet Safety Goes Back to School
 
Celebrity politician Svyatoslav Vacarchuk and Vice President of Microsoft for Central and East Europe Vakhe Torossian gave the first in a series of open presentations on Internet safety to more than 100 children at Kyiv Lyceum #38.This series of presentations will be given in schools throughout Ukraine under an agreement with the Ministry of Education. According to the plan, more than 60 instructors will teach children from 200 schools in 13 regions of Ukraine during the initiative's first stage. More than 20,000 children will participate in the program.The coalition includes Microsoft's Partnership in Learning Program, the All-Ukrainian Network to Prevent the Sexual Exploitation of Children, the International School of Equal Opportunities, the Institute of Information Society, the Internet Association of Ukraine, publishing house Edipress Ukraina, Ukrtelecom (TM OGO!), Hewlett Packard, Life:), Volia and Svyatoslav Vacarchuk. Telenor, EEF Announce National Photo Contest
 
Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor and East Europe Foundation announced a national photo contest to raise awareness of social problems and motivate people to be proactive in local community life. The contest categories are: the Community in Action (people working together on behalf of the local community), From One to All (small businesses helping sustain the country's economical development), I Know How to Live (vulnerable populations such as the elderly and disabled living full lives despite their disadvantages), Ray of Hope (vulnerable youth such as orphans and disabled children studying and participating in community life), and Preserving Nature (energy efficiency guarantees us a future). Ukrainian Institutions Organize Conference on BIOMASS FOR ENERGY in Kyiv 
The 4th annual international conference on Biomass for Energy, to be held in Kyiv on September 22-24, will address biomass potential in the world and more specifically in Europe, ways and possibilities to modernize the municipal heating and power sectors of Ukraine, state-of-the-art technologies for bio-energy being developed for use in Ukraine and critical issues for bio-energy development in Ukraine. The conference is being organized by the Thermo-Physics Engineering Institute at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Agency of Ukraine for Effective Energy Use and the Biomass Scientific Engineering Center. It is supported by DANFOSS (Denmark), SenterNovem, (Netherlands), the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the ministries of Housing and Communal Services, of Fuel and Energy, of Agricultural Policy and of Industrial Policy.
