Kyivstar Encourages Families to Spend Quality Time Together
On September 13, Chernihiv will celebrate Quality Time with Kyivstar, which is sponsoring the program Communication for the Future's Sake-2008. Chernihiv will be the tenth town in Ukraine to host this program's events. The aim of the program is to stimulate parents to spend time with their children. From August 23 through October 4, the same celebrations will take place in 21 towns of Ukraine. More than 100,000 Ukrainian families are expected to participate. Other program activities include sociological research on the problems in communication between children and parents, a national advertisement campaign (launched August 16) and a new musical project entitled The Warmth of the Words, developed by Kyivstar and musician Gaytana. Asters Supports Law Students
On September 1, the law firm Asters announced its second scholarship competition in the area of tax and finance regulations for law students from the universities of Kyiv and the Kyiv oblast. The goal of the competition is to stimulate the development of creative and professional initiatives by the students. Three winners will be chosen to receive monthly scholarships and an internship at Asters. The deadline for the applications is September 30th. The competition is supported by the company Liga-Zakon and the newspaper Yuridicheskaya Gazeta. Please click here to learn more (in Ukrainian).

Telenor, EEF Announce National Photo Contest
International telecommunications company Telenor and East Europe Foundation announced a national photo contest to raise awareness of social problems and motivate people to be proactive in local community life. The contest categories are: the Community in Action (people working together on behalf of the local community), From One to All (small businesses helping sustain the country's economical development), I Know How to Live (vulnerable populations such as the elderly and disabled living full lives despite their disadvantages), Ray of Hope (vulnerable youth such as orphans and disabled children studying and participating in community life), and Preserving Nature (energy efficiency guarantees us a future). EBA Dedicates a Day to the Environment
On Saturday, 20 the European Business Association (EBA) will host EBA Green Day in Florence Park in Kyiv's Desniansky region. Activities will include eco-craft making, green gardening tips, planting shrubery and the clean-up of at least one of Kyiv's parks to help promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle. The event is supported by Slavutich, Carlsberg Group and Dolce Italia. Please click here to learn more.
